Congratulations to all the UCLM researchers who will be recognized at the 2023 Castilla-La Mancha Research and Innovation Awards!

Congratulations to our outstanding researchers in the third edition of the Castilla-La Mancha Research and Innovation Awards! We are proud to announce that among this year's awardees are distinguished members of our faculty, who have been recognized for their excellence and significant contributions in various areas of knowledge. Two of the awardees, Maria Lourdes Gómez Gómez and Cristina Martín Alvarez, are colleagues from the Faculty of Pharmacy at UCLM and have been recognized for their excellence in their respective research areas.

In Sciences, Lourdes Gómez Gómez, a researcher at UCLM, has, among other achievements, a 30-year academic research career and more than 9,000 citations in prestigious publications. In the category of Young Research and Innovation Awards in Sciences, Cristina Martín Álvarez, associate professor at UCLM in the Department of Physical Chemistry, will be recognized for her research in the development of new luminescent materials necessary to advance in applications such as LEDs and diagnostic materials.

This year, the awards have recognized the effort and quality in the branches of Arts and Humanities, Sciences, Health Sciences, Social and Legal Sciences, and Engineering and Architecture. Additionally, special recognition has been given to the contributions of women in science, thus promoting gender equity in the research field.

The award ceremony will take place in a public event that will feature the presence of important academic figures and members of the community. This event not only celebrates individual achievements but also highlights the importance of research and innovation as fundamental pillars for development and social well-being.
